Common questions from carrier companies getting started on Bikum.
How do my drivers get linked to my company automatically?
The link happens through your traffic file number. When a driver registers their truck in the Bikum app and enters your company's traffic file number, the system checks the database. If the number matches your registered carrier company, the driver's account is automatically upgraded to a "company driver" and linked to your fleet. You'll see them appear in your Carrier Portal. This is why it's critical to share your traffic file number with every driver before they register.
Do my drivers need to accept the commission agreement themselves?
No. Commission is handled entirely by the carrier company. The company admin accepts the commission agreement once during registration, and it automatically applies to all drivers registered under your traffic file number. Company drivers do not see or accept commission terms separately — this is one of the key differences between company drivers and independent drivers on Bikum.
When do I need to add bank details — is it required during registration?
Bank details are not mandatory during the initial company registration. However, they are required for your company to receive payments for completed deliveries. When the carrier company or their drivers submit quotes without bank details being on file, a warning message will appear reminding them to add bank details. Payments for completed loads will be held until bank details are added. We recommend adding them as soon as your account is verified to avoid any payment delays.
Can I register my drivers from the web portal?
No. Driver registration must be done by the driver themselves using the Bikum mobile app (available on iOS and Android). The web portal is for company management only — viewing drivers, managing traffic file numbers, adding bank details, and monitoring loads. Each driver needs to download the app and complete registration on their own device.
What if a driver enters the wrong traffic file number?
If the driver enters an incorrect or unrecognised traffic file number, the system will not
link them to any company and they'll be registered as an independent driver instead — which
means they'll be subject to individual driver commission rates (10%) and will need to add
their own bank details. This can be corrected after registration: the driver can update their
truck details from the app and enter the correct traffic file number. Once the correct number
is saved, the system will automatically link them to the carrier company and update their
account type accordingly. Always provide drivers with your exact traffic file number in
writing before they register to avoid this.
Do company drivers need to add their own bank details?
No. Bank details are managed entirely by the carrier company through the web portal. When a driver is linked to your company, all payments for completed deliveries go to your company's bank account. Company drivers do not add or manage bank details — that is the company's responsibility. This also means if a driver leaves your company, their loads' payment will no longer go to your account once the link is removed.
Who pays the driver subscription — the company or the driver?
The subscription can be paid either by the driver through the mobile app, or by the
carrier company through the Carrier Portal. Both can make the payment — it is not
tied to the truck registration process and should be completed before the current
subscription period ends to avoid any interruption to the driver's access on the platform.
How many drivers can I register under one company?
There is no limit on the number of drivers you can have under your carrier company on Bikum. Each driver requires their own subscription (600 AED/180 days or 1,000 AED/360 days), but you can scale your fleet to as many drivers as your business needs. All drivers appear in your Carrier Portal for easy fleet management.
How long does company verification take?
The Bikum team typically reviews and verifies carrier company registrations within 5 business day. You'll receive a confirmation email once your account is approved. If you don't hear back within that timeframe, please contact us at contact@bikum.org or call +971 (06) 741-7042.
Does each driver get a free trial period?
Yes. Yes. Every driver gets a 180-day free trial per truck. The trial starts automatically from the day the truck is added in the app — not from the driver's registration date. This means a driver can register today but only add their truck weeks later, and the 180 days will start counting from that truck addition date. During the trial, the driver has full platform access — their truck is visible on the map, they can receive loads, submit quotes, and use GPS tracking. No payment is required. After the 180 days end, the driver subscribes: 600 AED for 180 days or 1,000 AED for 360 days.
Can the company submit quotes without the driver doing anything?
Yes. The company admin can submit quotes on behalf of any driver in the fleet directly from the Carrier Portal. You browse available loads, select the appropriate driver and truck, and submit the quote. The driver is then notified and handles the pickup and delivery. This gives fleet managers full central control over workload distribution without relying on each driver to find and bid on loads independently. Drivers can still submit their own quotes via the mobile app at the same time.
What control does the company have over their drivers on the platform?
The carrier company has full control over all drivers registered under their fleet from the Carrier Portal. This includes: tracking the real-time GPS location of each driver's truck, renewing driver subscriptions before they expire, deactivating a driver's account to suspend their access to the platform, and reactivating their account when needed. This gives fleet managers complete visibility and control over their entire operation from one central dashboard.
When does a driver's account become fully active and eligible to receive loads?
A driver account alone is not enough to receive loads or shipper requests. The driver's account only becomes fully active and eligible to receive loads after they have completed their truck registration — including uploading the vehicle registration card, entering the traffic file number, and having their truck details saved in the system. Until the truck is added, the driver will not appear on the Bikum map and cannot receive any load requests or shipper calls.
Why should drivers enable location tracking always and in the background?
Enabling location tracking always — including in the background — is critical for drivers to get the most out of the Bikum platform. When background location is active, shippers can see the driver's real-time position on the map and send load requests even when the driver is not actively using the app. Without it, the driver's truck will not appear on the shipper's map, meaning they will miss nearby load opportunities. Background location also allows the carrier company to track the full fleet in real-time from the Carrier Portal. Drivers are prompted to enable this permission during app setup and it is strongly recommended to keep it enabled at all times while on duty.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancellation works differently depending on your account type:
Shippers: Shippers can submit an account deletion request directly from the Bikum mobile app. Once processed, your account will be deactivated and your subscription cancelled. Since Bikum is completely free for shippers, no refund applies. To reactivate your account, please email us at
contact@bikum.org.
Carrier Companies: Carrier companies must send a cancellation request by email to
contact@bikum.org. Since company registration on Bikum is free, no refund applies. To reactivate your account, please email us at
contact@bikum.org. Please note that cancelling your carrier company account does not automatically cancel the subscriptions of truck drivers registered under your company — each driver must submit their own cancellation request individually from the
My Profile screen in the Bikum mobile app.
Individual Truck Drivers: Drivers can submit a cancellation request from the
My Profile screen in the Bikum app. Please note there is
no refund on paid subscription fees. Once cancelled, your subscription remains active until the end of your current validity period — you will not be charged again after that. If you change your mind, you can resume your subscription at any time within the remaining validity period at no extra cost. Once the validity period ends, resuming access will require paying the standard subscription fee based on your chosen package (600 AED / 180 days or 1,000 AED / 360 days).
In all cases, subscriptions are never auto-renewed. When your validity period ends, your account will not be renewed unless you actively pay for a new subscription period.
